Provincial and National Sports
In 2020, there are many provincial and national sports, including two for athletes with a hearing impairment, on the Défi sportif AlterGo schedule.
Sports development is important to us. That is why Défi sportif AlterGo strives to get young athletes with functional limitations to participate in federated competitions. We are proud to work with sports federations in Quebec and Canada to organize a number of competitions in 2020.
For its 37th edition, Défi sportif AlterGo is pleased to be hosting a wheelchair basketball tournament. Teams from Québec and Ontario will be competing, but the tournament is open to all.
Défi sportif AlterGo 2020 will be hosting a national boccia competition sanctioned by the Canadian Cerebral Palsy Sports Association. The competition is open to athletes from all over Canada.
For its 37th edition, the Défi sportif AlterGo 2019 is proud to host, from April 24 to April 29, a wheelchair curling competition. The event is organized in collaboration with Curling Canada.
For its 37th edition, Défi sportif AlterGo is organising a Ball Hockey tournament in collaboration with different centres that offer services to adults with mental health problems.
Para-athletics comprises a number of events on the track and the road. In 2020, Défi sportif AlterGo is proud to be hosting the 10km wheelchair race of the Chantal Petitclerc Classic.
For its 37th edition, Défi sportif AlterGo is proud to host, in collaboration with the Quebec’s Pickleball Federation, a para-pickleball competition. The competition will be held at Complexe sportif Claude-Robillard on May 3, 2020.
Défi sportif AlterGo 2020 will be hosting a provincial para-swimming competition for athletes at the development and provincial levels, in categories S1 to S14.
The Défi sportif AlterGo 2020 will present the Canadian Rugby Championship, which will host up to 12 teams from across Canada. The best teams from each province will compete during 3 days of competition.
